Holy crap!! Chicago is booming!

We'll even have WPS creeping in the back (hopefully a supertall)

Getting closer and closer...

400 from the sky will look like a Cambodian temple peeking through a jungle along a river!

Excellent models, it really brings the skyline to a new appreciation!

How do I post a picture? Sure not the right thread but I got a good one.

use this code:

(IMG) put image URL here (/IMG)

But instead of parenthesis ( ) use brackets [ ]

Interesting Harry. Looks like no connection between LSD and North Water via the old Spire ramp. I feel like that would have been a useful bit of infrastructure for the neighborhood as a whole, but the city probably doesn't want traffic to unload onto what is now a mostly quiet street anytime LSD gets jammed up with traffic... which is basically almost always.

The residents along East North Water enjoy being on a dead end street in the middle of downtown.

From 1950 until, I guess, the early 1970s, Container Corp. of America had a cardboard box factory (Chicago Coated Board Division) on this site. After that, vacant.

So - how is the existing foundation - i.e. the hole - going to play into all of this?

Did you see my post earlier today?

The mega-tall looks like Wolf Point to me, so clearly that's not happening...

Edit

Wait nevermind, that's the Mart in front of it... why am I putting so much effort into this?

230Roberto May 17, 2018 3:02 AM

WPS Megatall CONFIRMED? Only time will tell

Or build out the Ohio Feeder ramp westward as a parallel highway to 290 lol

At this pace we might surpass that movie skyline by 2035.

Time for Sears to get some Super-tall buddies. Certainly plenty of room nearby.

I assumed it was the Green Line along Lake St turned into a highway.

Interestingly, the city did consider turning the elevated lines into expressways until it became clear how laughably few cars they could actually carry...

That letter of support was for the Tribune project.

I'm surprised at just how unrelated they seem to be, though I guess at least half the piers of the north tower could use the Spire's circle of caissons:

Actually, it did come up. Some of the caissons will be used and other foundations will have to be put in. I think the north tower can use more of whats there. The developer joked that you could uproot the Sears Tower and put at northern part and it wouldn't move. But because of what's there, money will be saved.

Is site I really that wide? I guess I figured it was more slender. But renderings I guess could be deceiving.

It probably is slender. I actually thought that project was going to be redesigned so I've yet to take the time to properly model and texture it yet.
