Regarding 710 W. Grand, what's the name of that little neighborhood? It's kind of isolated by the tracks and Kennedy. Is it River West?

Caissons started today at 750 N. Hudson.
|
It used to be called the Near Northwest Side. I thought it was now in River West, but it seems to be in the Fulton River District (not to be confused with Fulton-Randolph Market, the one that received landmark a short while ago). It's bounded by Ohio to the north, the expressway to the west, the river to the east, and the railroad tracks that also make up the Near West Side's borders to the south. Google Maps has a nice overlay of its boundaries.
|
I lived in the neighborhood until just recently and always called it Fulton River District.
|
I guess I should have emphasized that "used to" meant several decades ago. Strangely though, the city mentioned it as the Near Northwest Side in their 2002 plan for the area.

Printers Row

Munchymunch, have you been Spyguy all along? :)
Wow. 215 Lake sure is bright. I recall people saying the tower was 36 stories tall. The Printer's Row tower looks to be 24 stories from my count. The Fifth Third Bank provides a great indication for where the Printer's Row tower is. It would be located at the southwest corner of Clark and Harrison, which currently is a parking garage. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.8745...7i13312!8i6656 |
Nice splash of color! I really like the Printers Row project. i think 215 Lake will look less cartooney completed. Maybe something like JeffJack

I love the Printers Row design, but Oh Lawd, that first one...

How real are these kick ass proposals?
|
215 is very real..... I have no idea about the printer's row building.
^^ it looks like Nickelodeon redesigned the Leo Burnett building but I think it looks cool ^^^^ nope :) |
