Blanco Cantina is set to open in the former La Bodega location on Albert on June 12. Same chain group as Montana's and Swiss Chalet.

Owner is the former owner of Twenty Ten. Looks like he's going for a chain restaurant & visible location this time for more stability.

Not sure what's happening with the old Twenty Ten yet. It's a unique situation with the small restaurant footprint and moving food & staff up and down the elevator to the rooftop patio.

The Winchester Group bought the property directly from the "development manager" the city hired, rather than putting it to bid.

Rumor has it that it's going in next to the Wendy's on South Albert. (The old Fenders/Pasta Prima/The Nest site).

I can’t find any information about an oeb location, but they’ve been looking for a franchisee for a while.

It was in the news. Its going into the base of Hill Tower. They are still looking for a franchisee but pushing forward with the build out.

Framing is up for alleged Taco Bell South. It will be south of Grekos on Albert St.

So would the building going up on Albert & 3rd Ave N be a second Taco Bell location? It's obviously some sort of fast food business going in there judging by a drive-thru window on the side.

Ah, yes! I forgot about the empty space where HSBC used to be.

I believe OEB has a coming soon sign up in the former HSBC space in Tower 1. They had a note on their website at one time that they were opening in spring 2024, but i do not see that anymore.

They’re hosting an open house today. It’s done at 7, but you can get a peek at the space and renderings on their Facebook/Instagram stories.

I think a pawn shop or payday loan place would suit that area.

It is the second location of a Weyburn restaurant called Leicester. It has a menu similar to Canadian Brewhouse where the owner was once the chef. Leicester FC is is fav team.

After yesterday's gas line fire/explosion, Luiggis is being demolished today. Building can not be salvaged according to their crackbook page. Restaurant was up for sale previous to this.

Up for sale + CEBA (covid) loans due next week + gas explosion = me suspecting insurance fraud, and I can't be the only one.

There are much easier ways to burn down a restaurant. Also there were people still in it! Finally, the restaurant did not own the building.

Having said that, there are going to be a lot of local restaurants that can't pay back CEBA.

I tried Liberty Kitchen. I was quite pleased. Excellent, fast service, great food and cocktails. The vibe and decor are nice with a huge 4-season patio. I would say mostly Gen Y, Z patrons with a sprinkling of older folks and only one family that I noticed. It should do well. It is a highly visible location next to Kal Tire - former Mr. Greek.

I think this is the first time I have seen Millennials referred to as Gen Y since 1999!
