The site has potential I think. Isn't it the former site for Park Tower?

^ I believe that was the old YWCA further south on Michigan. They were supposed to preserve the facade and build the tower behind it. Plans fell through, and the building had to be demolished due to its very poor state or repair.

Such a shame. I liked that one, and its crown. I'd like a Madarin Oriental type of design on one of those Mich ave. Lots.

10 May 2018, taken from State Street with 30 E Balbo on the left. You can just barely see the NEMA crane to the left of 41 E 8th and the crane on the far right is for the Hilton Homewood.

Overall it’s turning out great, but I’m just slightly disappointed at how visible the vertical rows of opaque “spandrel” glass are on the long sides. Although I suppose as people move in and start installing different blinds and things they should become less prominent, am I right?

Bombardier May 12, 2018 12:27 AM

^it is rental, so blinds are all the same. But you are right that this won’t be as noticeable when people are occupying the building.

View from Adler Planetarium. This is having a bigger impact on the skyline that I would have guessed in the beginning.

With how short everything within a few blocks of it is, this one will feel like it's 900 feet tall for a while

Notyrview May 27, 2018 3:24 PM

No doubt what an impact

From Left to right -- One Bennett park - Vista Chicago - Essex on the park - Nematode - Paragon.

And with Homewood Hilton on the left edge.

How many more floors left before this one's topped off?
