I haven't been on a river boat tour since high school, so I wasn't aware of that. They did not go up on the north branch back then.

Great, now I feel old

That is some complex rebar-work, reminds one of bundled signaling cables. What’s up with that?

Quick stop yesterday after a client meeting. Got lucky with some blue skies and passing clouds for nice light:

I vaguely recall a discussion about how this will impact southern views from Orleans. I didn't really do the math on views from the south. This have quite a impact on northern views on Wacker too:

^ I'm going to be so happy once that orange turd (well, now blue but a turd it remains nonetheless  ) is visually blocked from NB Wacker, I may pop a bottle of bubbly to celebrate!

KWillChicago Feb 28, 2018 5:46 PM

Its going to look like a glass board of trade at the end of the canyon. Nice shot.

maru2501 Feb 28, 2018 6:13 PM

yeah that's a good point. Hadnt thought of that angle either

Chi-Sky21 Feb 28, 2018 6:39 PM

The East building is going to look EPIC from that view.

If this indeed provides a view cap looking North on Wacker, that's a pleasant surprise.

As Wacker has stolen the glory from LaSalle, I always felt the corridor was missing something--the majesty of enclosure that LaSalle provides. This will really go a long way in making the "global business hub" look of the corridor

Wish there was something to cap the south end of Wacker as well. Since the river shifts to the east south of Van Buren, it would need to be a development on the west side of the river. The massive new post office complex and the ComEd substation pretty much assure that view corridor stays open for a long time.

Guess we can't be greedy :)

If anyone has info on the date for the mat pour would love to check it out.
