Derby crane got raised this weekend. Looks pretty good in the skyline now seeing the luffing crane sticking up as high as Link.

Looks like Moon Tower will definitely be a go. LPRN was issued on the 8th. This one really snuck up from behind the lines!

Downtown Phoenix FilmBar defies pandemic odds, remains open with community support

All this time I thought FilmBar had shut down its original location and just showing films at Pemberton House. Looks like they will be back at their original location on 4/21. Good for them!!

Anybody have any info on what is going on at the East side of the AT&T Date Center on 2nd and Monroe across from the new Hyatt Place Downtown? They are tearing up all the sidewalk, street trees and one travel lane, you can see it in the Hyatt Const. Cam below.

I don't remember what was there before. Maybe adding onstreet parking?

It was just old concrete sidewalk with a landscape area and a few parallel spaces closer to Monroe. That is the only area of 2nd Avenue that has 3 lanes. I was wondering the same thing if they are scrapping the third lane and some sidewalk to make room for more on street parking? Just seemed weird since its on AT&T property/right-of-way so it wouldn't be associated with the Hyatt project.

Yep... if my memory serves correct, about two years ago the City made a big stink about the loss of “profitable” metered parking on Adams so the project is required to replace them.

Interesting. Well, at least it replaces a sea of standard gray concrete in front of the AT&T building and probably some new parking islands/landscape.

I was walking down Roosevelt Row on Saturday and noticed construction on the corner of 7th street and Roosevelt. Is this a new project?

Discussed a couple of pages back. APS is extending their power sub-station.

Thank you! I was curious on what they were doing. It didn't look big so I thought it wasn't much. Looking at the renderings it looks pretty dope.

It's difficult to imagine what kind of changes will make that parking area more profitable. If I remember correctly, that area had metered parking, but for parallel parking. So I suppose they could potentially double the parking capacity by enabling head on parking instead. But I can't imagine how many years it would take for the revenue generated to pay for the cost of that undertaking.

Yo does anyone know what's going up at Van Buren and 12th St? There's a small parking garage up as well as a couple of elevator cores about 4 stories tall? Apartments?

azsunsurfer Apr 23, 2021 3:55 PM

nevermind.....
