How much does it cost Canada to build these rails? Is it anywhere near as ridiculously bloated as the US?

Canadian transit projects aren't cheap, this is not the Chinese or Spanish model with standardization use to bring down cost. each project in Canada is completely novel and therefore expensive

Canada is building the most transit projects in its history right now because a long term federal liberal government that will fund any transit projects that is brought to it as part of it's climate plan and provincial conservative governments which are generally pro expanding transit as well.

since it's still 2022, this was just announced.

The cost to rebuild Toronto busiest Subway station is 1.5 Billion Canadian dollars.

Would this be cheaper or more expensive in rebuilding Chicago's busiest station???

My personal feeling is that Chicago would have a cheaper starting budget, then blow out to a whole lot more, overtaking Toronto, and also take a bit longer. But potentially look nicer (I think Chicago is building plenty of ugly things but they have slightly better taste than Toronto)
