Can't believe how quickly this one will be starting. Wasn't it only proposed in June of last year? 13 months from proposal to starting is pretty awesome :)

I think we can all use a refresher of how awesome this tower is gonna be :)

I agree it was quicker than any other proposal in The country.

Zapatan Feb 27, 2014 6:31 AM

Well that's just awesome, well done Calgary :)

Although it's called Telus Sky I prefer to call it 'Twisted Sister' cause it's so twisted. ;)

it looks like rectangle version of absolute world or puzzle piece of Vancouver house.

London has the Gherkin, the Walkie Talkie and the Grater, Denver has the Cash Register, and now we have the Chimney

TallBob Feb 28, 2014 10:25 PM

Stamps: I've said that in the past. Looks like a chimney.... Like to see a less radical twist!

New renders showing the redesign at the bottom of the tower, including the park on the +30 level. It is absolutely stunning and I love the small new changes :)

the new design looks stiff. the old one looked like it was rotating. you know what I mean.

Chadillaccc Mar 6, 2014 3:29 AM

It's still the exact same architectural design other than the small changes at the bottom. Aesthetically, it looks like they added in black trim around all of the windows and under each balcony. That could be what is making it look "stiff" to you. I actually like the black trim, however, I absolutely love both versions. So even if the black trim is just a rendering quirk, this tower will still be one of the nicest in the country.

middeljohn Mar 6, 2014 11:54 AM

I like the update. The lego look will make it completely unique and it looks really good too.

O-tacular Mar 6, 2014 6:28 PM

I agree the black trim makes it look more solid and less fluidic.

Bigtime Mar 6, 2014 6:30 PM

Druh's not a fan of the black.

O-tacular Mar 6, 2014 7:44 PM

So it's not just a mistake with the rendering then? I'm still not crazy about it. Less green glass though in the new version which is a good thing.

DarthMalgus Mar 6, 2014 7:56 PM

Actually, at first I liked the black but, revisiting the original rendering, I have changed my mind...I agree that the black does not look quite as good. The building looked much lighter and more transparent without it.

TriWolf Mar 11, 2014 10:13 PM

I actually like the black o__o It's a nice break from the over used and generic blue glass you see everywhere.
