I'm sold on The House. I'll be there opening weekend, that's for sure.

Garlic Jim’s Famous Gourmet Pizza is opening a new restaurant in Northwest San Antonio later this month, the company’s first in Texas.

Mill Creek, Washington-based Garlic Jim’s bills itself as a gourmet carry-out and delivery pizza chain. San Antonio businessmen Jon Gustavson and Dave Heinze will operate the restaurant as franchisees. The new restaurant will open on April 28.

Some of the specials at the new Garlic Jim’s will be made-to-order personal-size Neapolitan pizza and lunch items that will be ready in five minutes.

Austin restaurant 'Frank' opening location in San Antonio's Southtown

http://ww2.hdnux.com/photos/15/71/20.../5/512x512.jpg

The people of Southtown can expect a new hot dog joint – sister to Frank in Austin – in the spring.
The new restaurant, to be located in the former Alamo Methodist Church at 1150 S. Alamo St., will be the second in the franchise, according to Austin360.
Known for its uniquely dressed hot dogs, chicken and waffles, poutine and cold beer, the German-influenced restaurant has sat in downtown Austin since 2009.
This sounds really cool, the bar St. Francis, will be in the old sanctuary.

this article is really old. Are they (Frank) still planning on moving in to the church?

Um, ya.

I was reading the article about Jason Dady's new BBQ place in Shavano and it tangentially led me to the Shuck Shack website (one of his other restaurants), which I had been wanting to try.

Then I saw the prices. That $40 lunch lobster roll...?

As more and more San Antonio food becomes "elevated", I learn to appreciate the places that just serve legit food for reasonable prices.

Dang it. I've been wanting to try the Shuck Shack too, but not at those prices.

Guess I'll stick with Rudy's for my seafood.

Ya, I want to say that there are more reasonable things on the menu, but even fish and chips is like $15.

If you've tried Garbo's in Austin then you know that not only is $20 appropriate for a lobster roll, but if done right, can be life-changing. I'll be back in SA in a month and will definitely give this place a try!

This has been in the works for years now. It's so good to see these projects actually making it to completion!

Big Bend Brewing Plans To Open Facility in San Antonio

I recall that the Lone Star development was supposedly looking for an onsite brewery or brewpub. Could Big Bend Brewing be that tenant?
54000 is a good size (Freetail on S Presa is about 30000).

Plans to Open a Second Production Facility in San Antonio, Texas.

Big Bend Brewing Co. is pleased to announce our second production expansion since we started in 2012—and our first expansion into a new facility. We have been fortunate enough to have amazing fans, an excellent network of distribution partners, and some of the best retailers in Texas supporting our growth over these last four years. We are truly grateful.

Big Bend Brewing Co. has more than doubled production each year until we hit capacity in our current facility during 2016. At 54,000 square feet, the new San Antonio facility will give us the extended reach needed to keep up with demand across the state of Texas in 2018. The new facility will open its doors in late 2017.

Keep-SA-Lame Jan 24, 2017 2:15 PM

Very exciting! This article says it's going to open in late 2017, so that probably rules out Lone Star:
