But Park Avenue is prime real estate, the top business district in the city, and officials intend to keep it that way. That was changing, as newer towers were being built elsewhere (due to zoning). They just happened to be fortunate enough to own prime real estate that could suit their needs. On a serious note, it seems the progress has slowed quite a bit. Could be that they were as far as they can go until demo completion. Or, it could be that the unprecedented doubling of steel costs is hindering construction. I am hearing that steel pricing should level out by August. :shrug:
