Seems much taller than that already, going to make a bigger impact that I thought.

I love the glass. It looks really nice

dropdeaded209 Nov 30, 2020 12:31 PM

reminiscent of the Saarinen building down at UofC...

I like this tower. The comparisons to 110 N Wacker are obvious, but the execution and details on this are much, much better. 110 N Wacker is, frankly, boring unless you catch you it from certain angles. The plaza along the river is fantastic and the lobby is gorgeous. Otherwise, the side facing Wacker is a boring of a blue box as you can get once you get about 25-30 feet up. And viewed from the south looking north, the side facing the river loses most of its visual interest with the way the glass is angled. BMO tower looks to be a lot more detailed and interesting.

I 100% agree.

Construction cam shows core currently at 22 floors, with steel structural work on the 19th floor:

This sucker is flying, nearly halfway there already!

Wow this is going up fast. They must not want this pandemic to mess anything up

These comments are always funny to me after there are pages of comments like "wow, they are taking their sweet time with the foundation. Is this still under construction?" It's like building a foundation that rests on top of active train tracks is complicated while pouring concrete into moveable forms is pretty quick.

Wow the glass is extra reflective. Are they using glass or chrome for the facade on this one?

As this creeps skyward, I keep seeing it in places where I realize just how visible this tower will be. Case in point:

Extrapolate how much is left to go and it will definitely leave a mark in this part of the southwest Loop.

Good point - the core is currently at the 25th floor so imagine it at double that to understand the full height and impact of the building.

I took these photos on Thursday. The glass is fantastic in person.

On the webcam, the glass on the east side of the floor above the lobby is complete and they are on the floor above now. Anyone know why they aren’t using fire resistant foam/coating on the floors above the lobby?

I suspect it's probably just a matter of time, they will eventually.

Some pictures I took this afternoon around 2 PM.

I wish they had two webcams facing eastward one looking at the structure as it rises and another to view the bottom of the tower as they constructing the parking garage levels.

I thought this one was going to be boring but it's looking great so far
