"1333 1/2 Ventura Blvd at Green Acres"

There's no such intersection.

Was there a "Green Acres" thoroughfare that's since been vacated?
13333 is on an extra long block with what-must-once-have-been open land north of it across an alley. Maybe "Green Acres" was something else.

The business card says one could "Ride". Horses need a lot of room. There's that "sparkling" pool too.

This 1946 map of the Valley is too small for me to read. It may be too late anyway.

There was plenty of room for horses in 1947, although there's only a small building where the current 13333 Ventura Boulevard is located.

Ancestry.com has entries for a Jennie Poll in Los Angeles, b. 1895 or 1893, but I'm not signed up so couldn't dig any deeper.

Hi, I think you could post your screen grabs from the youtube videos, but that's my opinion only.

As for Sunset Strip scenes? I don't know if these will help, and I may not be too specific as I haven't seen these things at all recently, so don't hold me to anything, but:

...the film Man in the Vault has a car driving down Sunset Blvd. They pass the Mocambo nightclub. They also drive down to the Chateau Marmont Hotel and turn up Marmont Lane.

Model Shop is a 1969 Jacques Demy film that I believe has some scenes filmed on the strip.

So does Moment By Moment with Lily Tomlin. She does some shopping on the strip and also I believe she walks by or near Schwab's Drugstore. And, of course, John Travolta's name in this is "Strip"! Lol!

Bugsy has the lead characters going to Ciro's, though I don't know if the outside shots were stock footage or created on a soundstage.

I believe the credits of the TV series The Ugliest Girl in Town have shots on the strip near Horn Ave. and Holloway.

A scene from a first season episode of Southland has a scene shot on Sunset Blvd. in front of the round building, now painted green, that was originally built for a plastic surgeon in 1967. See this NLA post:

There's an episode of The Andy Griffith Show where they go to Hollywood and drive down the strip showing various places. (I remember Dino's restaurant.)

By the way, does anyone know? This film is about a guy who is a photographer and he likes to go to a place on Sunset Blvd. (Model Shop) where you buy a ticket and then rent a camera and film, or bring your own, and then pick out a model and they go to a room (I don't know if they're all like this, but the room they go to has bedroom furnishings in it) and then you take photos of the model you've picked out (sexually explixit ones as well). You surrender the film before you leave and they tell you a photo place that will have your pictures ready at a certain time.

Did (do?) these places really exist anywhere? I'd never heard of such a thing before.

There are other L.A. locations in this film. Some scenes take place in a house that has an oil well next to it.

I used to know a woman [Joanie] in 1972 who worked at an X-rated photo studio that was located in the Crossroads of the World building on Sunset Blvd.. They took photos of people who were interested in nude modeling and acting in X-rated films. They always gave the patrons wine and then took nude photos of them. They always had an endless supply of male and female models. Its Hollywood so there's no surprise there.

I don't remember the name of the studio but the year was around 1972.

I posted a few screengrabs from the 1972 movie 'Hickey & Boggs' just over a month ago in post #27060. They were concerned with the Brownleigh Apartments and St Paul Avenue, but there's a brief scene later in the movie that was filmed (with a static camera) on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Larrabee Street.

This is getting a little obscure, but another filming location used in 'Hickey & Boggs' is Miller Drive, just above Sunset Boulevard. You can just see the top of The Tiffany Theater (8534 W Sunset) as they drive up the hill.

The theater opened in 1966, and was demolised in 2013. I had to go back to 2009 to get the Googlemobile across the street.

I can't find the history right now. As I recall it was taken down after 1906 in stages. First the top was cut out. Later on the seaward column was removed with dynamite. Boom.!!
I've seen photos of this but they elude me tonight. It may have been located where the Casinos were built in Avalon.
