Why gross? I don't see any actual renderings...

22 story is the opposite of gross to me.

Anytime we clear the 19-20 story mark that far from the core and the building is not hideous (still TBD) it’s a win in my book. I believe this would be the closest tallest to Roosevelt. If Link 3 gets build those blocks between 3rd and 4th will be really impressive!

There's elevation drawings in the link provided by BA and Crested. Looks awesome.

The height limit in that area is around where they're pushing anyways. Of course, zoning is a mere formality in Phoenix, but 250' is a safe place to build and plenty welcome for the area anyways.

Downtown Phoenix has been updated in Google Earth!

I just saw this too, been waiting on this for years,lol!!! It’s about 8 or 9 months old but still, looking like a real city on Google Earth!

Actually judging by all the foliage you can see in google earth, it’s probably about December last year. Kinda nice to see if people from other places are browsing our city for them to see we do have trees that change color, although it happens generally very late fall to early winter.

Looking at Street View from March 2020, downtown was popping and people were actually walking around and the restaurants were packed. Too bad the pandemic happened when it did because Phoenix was on the right path. It's not like covid is going to destroy the city but it does make it more difficult for the city to progress more because people are going to be afraid to go out in crowds after all this is done with.

I don’t believe any hesitancy to be in crowds will last long. First, people were going out to bars and restaurants almost the entire time. People still wanted to socialize pandemic be damned. Second, people will want to get back to normal life and back to the things that we have missed out on. Sports, shows, music, food, entertainment, vacations, and people in general. While some people will want to live further out with more space(they likely always have), a lot of people will still either prefer having a small space and exploring outdoors and downtown areas. Third, we still have people moving here for lower cost of living, as things open back up and jobs are more available, I would guess the people who have dipped into their savings in other higher cost places will be looking even more at Phoenix.

Don't agree. Thousands of units being built right now and will open next year. COVID's grip on Downtown will loosen by the middle of next year. By Fall 2021, Downtown will be rocking.

Half the population is not particularly worried about Covid as it is now, and there are now two vaccines that are showing 90% effectiveness in initial trials

Humans have lived through much much deadlier pandemics and Humans always end up doing things that humans do in short order thereafter

Humans don't change course completely, we adapt. Obadno is right, there have been pandemics before this and there will be more again some day. We, as a species, have a tendency to fixate on what scares us or what's unfamiliar.

I don't think any of you should be out picking your nose and being unmasked, but some day this will be over with and when that day comes I can assure you people aren't going to have the attitude that concerts are now a thing of the past.
