Absolute imbeciles. I thought I could count on the Feds having the competence to see this is an obvious vital transit corridor not some opportunity for a stupid f***ing park.
This needs to get killed in the crib now before any real money is wasted on this. |

The article states the work if done would be for the section that crosses Forest Park and the MTA claims it wouldn't preclude joint usage with transit. Yeah, we'll see. Best case scenario nothing happens and the next mayor favors rail.

Mind numbing decision making. One of the city's biggest transit deserts with perfect ROW ready to be integrated.
Also forget the stupidity of ruining transit opportunities, this is just not the High Line. The High Line works because it is an urban tourist attraction. This cuts through residential neighborhoods, I really can't even see it being that big of a success. |
Yeah the comparison to the High Line is complete apples and oranges that only a person that doesn't understand design or nuance would make. "Hey that's a shiny new viaduct park, now we want one!" is the basics of it. Never mind the High Line was a industrial freight rail road through what is now a hip trendy neighborhood not a previous purpose built passenger rail corridor with astonishingly obvious transit connectivity benefits.
