Ya we're moving at light speed now with second doses. I want to get to 70% of the total population to not give any of the provincial government's ideas about further lockdowns.

We might as well start tracking daily cases of the common cold at this point, this is so futile.
But sure, let’s keep a tally of Covid cases among vaccinated people who….ya know…..kinda aren’t dying. Let’s just do that forever while we’re at it :haha: |

disregarding the under 12's (who can't yet receive the vaccine), 99.9% of the people in the developed world who get hospitalized by or die from covid from here on out will be those who refuse to go get a vaccination.
i'm simply not capable of caring about those people. #vaxhesitantlivesDON'Tmatter |

Canada, overall, has done a good job with Covid. But that doesn't mean that some of their rules aren't nonsensical. |

But it’s a whole different thing to then have the scumsucking national media blare case counts out to the public on a daily basis, continually freaking out the more feeble minded members of our society. |

I’m glad most things are back to normal but I sure do miss not having any traffic anywhere. During rona it took about 7 min to get downtown, now it takes at least 30 anytime during the day. And people seem to be driving crazier than ever.

I am cheering on the delta variant. What humanity as a whole needs is to suppress this virus to sporadic status rather than endemic status--so-called "herd immunity" is another way of looking at the same thing. Given the level of "vaccine hesitancy" in the US, it now seems like the only way to do this is to boost "natural" post-infection immunity as much as possible and to accomplish that I WANT those who refuse vaccination to get covid as soon as possible. If they do, I wish them a mild case, but I want them to get it and for that reason I was cheered by the 4th of July crowds and hope for more of the same. |

I'm so effing glad covid is finally over!
I'm finally taking my son (now 5) to an MLB game for the first time in his young life in a couple weeks. I was hoping to do it last summer, but........ |

I'll be attending a Giants game in a few weeks as well. I'll have to make a photo thread to commemorate it, and may attach a few photos here as well. |
^ my dad's treating us, and he's born and raised Southside Irish, so the three of us are heading down to comiskey for a Sox game (hopefully to see 'em beat up on the twins).
My dad, me, and my son; 3 generations of Chicago men together to celebrate my little dude's first day ever out at the old ballgame. I can't wait! |
Went to a wake today for a neighbor that passed away and the funeral home was very crowded. No masks. Hopefully those folks were vaccinated otherwise its very ironic.
|
Many days now without having worn a mask...
and then BAM!!---I had my biannual dental checkup/cleaning today and had to put the mask on before even entering the waiting room. No biggie, of course. I didn't come unglued. :P |
^
Theres still a few places in Pittsburgh for no reason other than doctor offices that still require wearing a mask and unfortunately its at my favorite to go sushi place in Oakland. I couldn't go in today because I threw away all my masks a few weeks ago, so their loss. |

The US now has over 3x the daily new covid cases per capita to Canada

I don't see how case counts really matter anymore, as it doesn't appear that any country has reached a level of universal vaccination that would keep R values below 1 in a fully reopened scenario.
What I'm more interested in now is checking that the unvaccinated aren't occupying enough hospital bed to put the responsible members of the population at risk if they get in a car crash, have a heart attack, etc. |

The vast majority of the current cases are in those that are unvaccinated.
In other words, get vaccinated! It actually works! |

^ Once again, you might as well just be tracking the common cold at this point.
I'm not sure what Canada is "beating" the US in any more. An infection that largely isn't killing very many people any more? Yay for Canada, I guess, but look at the price you Arctic goofballs are paying to stop the "common cold" from spreading. Locking down--still, in 2021, putting people out of business and bankrupting them? Get the vaccine out, and move on. Some people won't get the vaccine and let those knuckleheads roll the dice with their lives. |

the CTU has been so completely over-reactive about this whole thing. "look, somebody in Sri Lanka just stubbed their toe really bad. we better close the schools again and do remote, you know, for the children, just to be safe." just let my kids get vaxxed already so that i never have to hear the goddamn phrase "remote learning" ever again! what's taking so long? |

You can always contact your local academic medical centers to see if they are participating in the trials and see if you can enroll your children in the study. Also important to note they may receive placebo but you'll find out six months later. If the subject received placebo they will have the chance to receive the actual vaccine after that 6 month period. |

But if the teachers have been vaccinated, they are perfectly safe teaching unvaccinated students, especially if masking is required. But I'm sure that stupidity will prevail, as it always does |
Just wait, guys, just wait till the THETA Q variant arises.
We're FUCKED, I tell ya! We're all going to die!!!! Buahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! I'm waiting on you, Theta Q!! |
