any reasonably complete how-to posts in the thread on how-to post photos from my Flickr account? search function seems a bit underwhelming.

I use Photobucket, but I assume the same would go for Flickr. You need to type but without any spaces between the link and the brackets. And you need to do the same for each image you want to post. :) |

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-z...2520PM.bmp.jpgLos Angeles Times, June 20, 1931 It's been a while since we've discussed the various Brunswig buildings near the Plaza--Prudent Beaudry's old 'hood. (Speaking of Beaudry, where are you keeping yourself these days?) What I don't remember is that when Spring Street was cut through from the south, one of the larger Brunswig structures, now demolished, was moved as per the article above. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-H...2520PM.bmp.jpgUSCDL Prior to move :previous: Those Denels shots are fantastic, e_r. |

The internet never ceases to give up unexpected treasures. Life is good. :) ____ |
Some time ago we had a nice run of posts featuring pictographic maps of Los Angeles. I don't recall this 1942 map by Jo Mora having been included. (But I could be wrong!)
http://www.californios.us/mora/la1942sm.jpg [source: californios.us] Three detailed views: http://www.kcet.org/socal/departures...x451-23135.jpg [source: kcet.org] http://www.kcet.org/socal/departures...x405-23137.jpg [source: kcet.org] http://www.kcet.org/socal/departures...x381-23139.jpg [source: kcet.org] Mora's densely illustrated map also includes a great deal of early Los Angeles history: http://www.kcet.org/socal/departures...timeline01.jpg [source: kcet.org] http://www.kcet.org/socal/departures...e/jomora10.jpg [source: kcet.org] Someone recently persuaded the Jo Mora Trust to republish this incredible map, in a limited edition of 250 lithographic prints. It's now available at the Los Angeles Central Library Store. One can also order it online from the Library Foundation of Los Angeles, although they currently seem to be out of stock. (I have no connection to the library or the Jo Mora Trust...just thought some of you might be interested in the temporary availability of this map!) |
