I couldn't resist including a close-up of this marvelous Queen-Anne House. Notice the highly unusual porte cochere on the left side of the house.
I don't think I've ever seen an open-air 'room' built atop a porte cochere before.

This building was removed, brick by brick in the late 90s to make room for a baseball field at the new Belmont Highschool / Vista Hermosa / Roybal Learning Center

This has to be a reverse print. When looking out the west portico of City Hall, the Hall of Records would be point to the right, not the left, and the new Criminal Courts building is also to the right of the old Hall of Records. Thomas Breneman Smith (June 18, 1901 – April 28, 1948) was a popular 1940s American radio personality known to his listeners as Tom Breneman.

Born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, Breneman was host of the show Breakfast in Hollywood which aired on the Blue Network, ABC, NBC and Mutual at various times from 1941 to 1948.[1]

Breneman's program went through numerous title changes but was best known as Breakfast in Hollywood (1948-49). By the mid-1940s, Breneman had ten million listeners. The popularity of the radio program was such that he created his own magazine, and in 1945 he opened his own establishment, Tom Breneman's Restaurant, located on Vine Street off Sunset Boulevard.[1]

He died in Encino, California in 1948. Breneman has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
