MONTREAL | BRiX (400 Dowd) | 16 FLOORS
Nice project! I like the sound of the Bauhaus inspired design.

Thanks for the update!
I've got to say, I like it already! |
This is really cool! I really like how they integrated the existing building.
|
No love for this one? I think its fantastic.
Fine, it won't have any impact on the skyline, and will probably not have much of a visual impact unless you're walking down bleury, but this is quality stuff. Griffintown developers, take notes this is how you integrate early 20th century industrial architecture with a nice looking highrise. |

This one is 25% sold already.

Great rendering. It looks like 17 floors. The thread title should be modified from 16 to 17.
|
I count 17 floors too. But what I'm more interested is the height in metres. I really wish it wasn't so difficult to get that simple piece of information but it is what it is.

|
This project apparently got the go ahead. Their advertisement in the week end papers says they are 40% sold and it is Under Construction. The Southam rehab next door is also advancing well.
|
They're working on the existing building. Work is coming along.

Montreal | 400 DOWD | 17 Floors
Well I guess there already was a thread!
"Architecture, with its endurance and ability to summarize all human achievements, has a constant influence on how we live our lives. Given this importance, much emphasis has been placed on the preservation of our historically and architecturally significant buildings — however, the question has become “what of the new architecture?” At 400 DOWD, sensitivity to the impact that design and architecture can have on lifestyle is foremost in our development approach. The meaningful marriage of an historic facade with the modern architecture of the 17 story tower of 400 DOWD, in a manner that ushers in a new movement within our historic neighbourhood, is central to our developmental efforts. Our designs were made to addresses the needs of the neighbourhood and its future residents in a fashion that is unique to any project downtown. This attention to detail has been incorporated at all levels including the selection of the highest grade, durable and sustainable materials, modern room layouts and the creation of interior spaces that maximize flexibility and natural light. 400 DOWD will become a transitional building once again, ushering in what will be the new residential architecture for Paper Hill." http://400dowd.com/high-end-condos-montreal.php?s "400 Dowd is a new condo project by Northcliffe and Olymbec Group currently under construction at 400 Rue Dowd in Montreal. The project is scheduled for completion in 2014. Available condos range in price from the low $190,000's to the low $600,000's. The project has a total of 120 units." http://www.buzzbuzzhome.com/400-dowd http://400dowd.com/images/exterior-rendering.jpg http://400dowd.com/high-end-condos-montreal.php?s https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...06206800_n.jpg https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...94353865_n.jpg https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...14472961_n.jpg https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater |
We'll need an admin to put a Montreal tag on this one! Thanks in advance!
|
I think work on this one is starting. It won't be officially U/C though until the tower rises above ground-level.
|
I love it. It's bold and dignified.
|
Excellent project. I personally love these mid rise towers. Not overly huge and not too small, just a good size and a good design. Nice to see the older building integrated into it.
|
Considering this is a Karl Fischer project, it is nothing short of excellent. This one is deep into site preparation.
