Possibly some inflammation or clotting factors played a role. IDK to what extent Covid played a role in it, but I do get what Bnk is saying medically. In most people, strokes take a while to manifest, and typically are a combined factor of pre-existing parameters. Bar some acute factors like a massive cocaine or meth overdose.
Covid could possibly accelerate some of these factors or make them worse, even i they are in an infant stage. |
Attributing deaths to covid by assuming every person who dies with covid has died from covid is not helpful. I'm not saying this is what happened in this particular case but it should be a concern to anyone who cares about having accurate data.
|
What is the point of armchair quarterbacking this? Presumably a medical professional examined the situation and provided the family a cause of death. All of us are too far removed from the details to have anything of value to add.
|
I had no idea that people were having strokes related to covid. I suppose they may be testing since there seems to be a high correlation between strokes and covid and hospitals are seeing an alarming increase in strokes:

Corona Update for NYC/NY: As of 6-2-2020
He didn't really go much into it today, more on the protests/rioting. https://aws1.discourse-cdn.com/busin...a3f561bec.jpeg |
The numbers will be going up very quickly in the next few weeks due to the civil unrest.
Some people being smart and wearing masks, but very little logical thinking in terms of protection during the protests. I stand with the peaceful protestors, but it's also very concerning how this, at this point, is certainly spreading COVID like wildfire. |

The lockdowns have prevented the virus from spreading through the population, as it needs to do, so that we can be done with this social distancing nonsense and have our lives back. |

Since my wife and I figured cases are likely to spike again next week, we took advantage of the outdoor seating at Flo and Santos for lunch today. We showed up right at opening and were the first ones there:

Hospitalization rates, number of ICU patients, and ventilator patients have not declined in Austin since the onset of warm weather, and reporting from the past week suggests hospitalization rates may actually be increasing. Positive test results (which are probably less meaningful) have been on a fairly steep increase as well.

Spike in cases in Arizona, where the temperature is well over 100F in the desert. Heat clearly isn't a factor in slowing it down

People live a lot of their lives at room temperature, particularly when they congregate. Add in people not wearing masks, and being in close proximity talking etc....
