I was walking across Broad near City Hall the other day, and I suddenly realized how much this will have an affect on South Broad.
Very excited for this to get vertical. |

Lots of work going on today- cement trucks lined up on Broad Street.

They are starting on a new floor now.
|
I was told by a perfectly reliable source that they are pouring the 6th floor. These lower 6 floors have been difficult, as is often the case with podiums. After 6, the tower should start to rise much more quickly as 7 and up are the residential floors.

Another pour happening now...and yep makes sense, once they have one square shape to build and pour, and repeat...things should speed up fast. And, then near the top, they will have to adjust for another shape change... |
Watching the current progress is pretty slow. To me it doesn't look like it could top out in Fall like they said, but watching 3720 Chestnut last year rise fast with the same concrete company I feel like they can top it by then

Aren't the first few levels far more challenging until they reach the residential floors?
It would make sense that they finish one phase and then start to fly. But whatdoIknow? |
Is it that they're challenging, or it's just bigger floor space compared to the residential floors. Residential is around 90x100, base with bigger floors is around 150x100. The amounts needed to be poured could be making this slow. Notice they pour these base floors in sections

Today's pour is the 6th main "floor pour", but as TK said they are doing 2 pours for each floor. It looks like they are finishing floor 3 today.
|
The base still needs to come out to Spruce as well. Wonder if they'll do that last so they can use the area to stage for the tower.

Unfortunately, I just saw that a construction worker was seriously hurt on this project today.
Hoping he pulls through. Broad Street was shut down with ambulances and stretchers. |
