The 110 wacker site looked much smaller with the short stubby building but now it looks massive driving by at any angle.

Anyone know of any other projects of this scale to have broken ground this year?

pianowizard Jun 1, 2020 5:45 PM

^This is the tallest so far this year. One Chicago, 1000M, and BMO broke ground in 2019.

No - hauling "gravel" to Prairie materials I believe.

Skyguy_7 Jun 9, 2020 3:49 PM

^So, eventually that gravel will, potentially, make it back down to Salesforce

Brand new set of Tremie pipes - used to keep the concrete from being diluted as it goes down 80+ feel in a slurry filled shaft.

Finally trekked out to Salesforce today. More to come, but was a gorgeous day to watch some foundation work.

Sorry if it's been asked before but what are those two "pools" in front of WPE? Are they fountains that are not functioning yet or are they set there for an actual fountain to be connected to the WPS riverwalk which I saw in one of the original drawing of the three towers together? Koi ponds?

Are you talking about the grey rectangles in the park in HarryC's shot ?

I believe those are nothing more exciting than ventilation grates.

Not a great shot, but here's an image from above late last summer

I don't like being proven wrong by anyone more than you or harry, nick. Lol. Wasn't there at some point, or is there still a fountain planned in front of WPS? Seems like a prime spot for one. Also across the river in front of 333 wacker in that grass area.

I think they're embedding the chicago Y symbol in the riverwalk in front of Salesforce tower and calling it a day

Yes, the big model I saw didn't have a fountain, just a big medallion right at the southernmost point of Wolf Point. I need to see if I can post those pictures...
