This building now feels tall, in addition to being large. Maybe we'll get glass for Christmas.

This tower is going to provide an epic drivers view crossing the Kosciuszko Bridge.

I agree. I still can’t wait to see detailed renderings of the Madison Ave plaza.

It's currently between 550 and 600 ft. The Helmsley Building (230 Park) is 565 ft.

Looking at these older aerials from Google Earth, you get an idea of how fortunate JP Morgan was to get this large of a footprint in the heart of Midtown...

Which is the reason Union Carbide was taken down. For all those that think it was a perfectly fine mid-century building and were hand wringing the decision to demolish it, the fact of the matter is the lot was just way too enticing not to redevelop.

MikeG Dec 8, 2022 9:13 PM

Man, that is as tall as the tallest building here.

I don’t know about that, but it’s certainly moving fast. Keep in mind it has a low floor count, and it gets smaller as it rises. But it’s unusually high for a building that has no cladding, but we’ll see if we get it before the building reaches supertall status. My guess is that it will, but I’m not 100% certain now.

Is there a record or note of any skyscraper that's risen this high without any cladding yet? At least we know for sure it'll see SOMETHING in 2023 :D

Superb Xing!

Back in the day (when Trump Tower Chicago was UC and we were being teased with the Chicago Spire), I was doing my best to create composites of the "future skyline". I never did get past SketchUp level modeling and pasting of the jpeg exports into the skyline with photoshop, but really did spend a considerable amount of time out of the pure love for and intrigue of skyscrapers.

Your work makes the stuff I did look like child's play...like
a kindergartener's drawing. I really appreciate the time that goes into your work and hope others do too. It really is outstanding stuff. Keep up the good work. Thank You for keeping our bellies full.

Thank you very much, and you're welcome, guys :) Thank you for the kind words Ryan81; these are a labour of love and interest for me too!
