The entire western view will be blocked. I was hoping someone could take some pictures inside 1201 Prairie facing west. I want pictures from those units of the Grant. Thank you.

But the western view is NOT of the park - not even a parking lot - was just a vacant lot.

So what is the enforcement; The developer-seller gives you your money back, or does this deed restrict what is done on other peoples - or public - property ?

Notyrview Mar 12, 2018 6:39 PM

Yeah and three very good towers too. It's gonna be the best summer for skyscrapers here since 2007.

thanks for the pics @teohwp85

Technically four:

One Grant Park, Essex on the Park, the Homewood Suites, and Paragon (you can sort of almost barely see it in the shot)

yes, sorry, I meant on the right side of the photo

I was browsing the OGP page on Rafael Vinoly's website and found an interior rendering I hadn't seen previously. Appears to be of the amenity space looking out onto the outdoor deck.

And a lot of people who look much too young to be making the kind of coin needed to live here. Maybe they're attending a birthday party for some trust-fund baby.

Already turning out to have a thinner appearance than I was expecting at first. Which is a good thing.

I didn't realize 1326 S. Michigan was that visible from the park.

Just imagine how slender it will look once it surpasses the height of OMP...

I really like this; simple but not sterile, and with a nice little retro-70s vibe especially with the color palette....and the sunken hearth..love it

Jibba Mar 26, 2018 2:59 PM

Looks like a Web 2.0-era corporate common area to me. Not a comfortable, relaxing space for a high-end residential property.

gebs Mar 26, 2018 3:27 PM

The view of both Parks (One Grant and Essex on the) from a little farther north:

I like all the residents kids hanging out - one even trying to figure out what those book things are.

n.b. the near shelf has comic books - definitely a place for the kids - perhaps there is a more refined and posh spot for the adults.

Fake news, that's a few floors from the top ;)

Ned.B Mar 27, 2018 1:21 PM

It appears that OGP has reached the next setback on the SE wing. 9 more floors until the tower becomes a square.

I take the best shots, tremendous shots, like you wouldn't believe, most people don't know this, but these pictures, and believe me, pictures like this, we're going to win, tremendous.

... but you're right, this was from the 60th-floor amenity room. I believe there were ten more floors above me.

That was a pretty solid impression :haha:

Yeah, including mechanical the building has 73 floors, so pretty much. She's a big gal

When do you think we'll start seeing some glass samples?

left of center Mar 31, 2018 8:14 PM

^ Supposedly the glass is delayed by the manufacturer. Not sure exactly when they will start seeing it being delivered. I think someone in this thread mentioned later on in April potentially?

Bombardier Mar 31, 2018 8:36 PM

^ Yes, the glass is supposed to be coming in April and the glass contractor is going to start 2 crews (one on a lower floor and one part way up).

And it sounds like the Vista team has still not been able to pass the performance mockup which is why there are only slab edge covers installed and no glass panels.

KWillChicago Mar 31, 2018 11:05 PM

How far is the manufacturer from chicago.? With the size of wanda and this I would think it would be economically more convenient to use an in-city company. Either way cant wait for this one to start getting wrapped with glass.

Bombardier Mar 31, 2018 11:23 PM

Oldcastle in Wausau, Wisconsin is fabricating OGP. Efco is fabricating Vista. I'm not sure where the Efco fabrication plant is.

Not a podium. Was constructed separate from the residential portion which fronts it on two sides with units going to street level. The fourth side will meet the east side of the adjoining building when it is built whatever the design.

Great set! Timeline guess when this will pass the roof of OMPW? Mid June-ish?

left of center Apr 6, 2018 9:12 PM

3 floors added between 3/7 to 3/23, that works out to around a floor every 5 days. Impressive!

At this rate, top out should be sometime near the end of this year.

Assuming we need about 25 more floors to get to the roof height of OMPW, my guess would be probably closer to mid August.

Freefall Apr 7, 2018 3:07 AM

And remember, with each setback, the pace will pick up because of smaller floorplates.

not exactly - the main constraint is the time it takes for the concrete to cure. A bit faster, but not much.

Mr Downtown Apr 7, 2018 2:19 PM

I think it's extremely rare to have less than a five-day-per-floor cycle.
