I get warm fuzzies viewing all the nostalgia from my childhood in this thread.
I had totally forgotten about Mayor McCheese! :haha:

Like the proverbial House of Frightenstein librarian dusting off the old book, I'm reaching in the dark back recesses for these two.

Back in the '80s, Global ran two series, "Night Ride" and "Night Walk", every night at about 3:30 a.m. I watched them at the time, if I happened to be awake. The steadicam and the relaxing jazz would invariably put me into a trance. Those were the days, indeed.

Those are great! This is better than a good chunk of current TV programming :haha:

The only unfortunate aspect is that the SD quality footage combined with the dark night scenes makes it very difficult (for me at least) to make out a lot of the details in the footage. Otherwise it's an awesome time capsule of 80s Toronto.

Other shows from my youth, Forest Rangers, Razzle Dazzle and the usual kids shows. we only had 2 stations then. CBC and CTV.

5 cents to toast your bread is a total rip off.

Totally a ripoff.

Why, I can remember when I was a kid in the 1960s, if you had a quarter, you were RICH!!!

- bag of chips - 5 cents
- chocolate bar - 5 cents
- bottle of pop - 10 cents (with a 2 cent deposit)
- three penny candy - 3 cents.

TOTAL - 25 cents. :)

What is with that wretched hair style of "Mother"? Looks like it was fashioned out of tuna rarebit.
