For those decrying the mix of materials, Wrigley has a similar mix of materials with the exception of all that glass. The modern-looking glass parts of the Triangle Lot building are really the only parts of the design that are not a part of Wrigley Field itself. Wrigley has a lot of exposed steel. In fact, the full plans include a similar 2-story steel design for an expanded Captain Morgan Club. I am not such a fan of that particular element of the redesign. I do wonder why the designers of the Triangle Lot seem to want to use black steel cladding when they could easily paint it green to mesh with the design of Wrigley. I hope they change their mind.

This building:

is in any way similar to this building?

Forgive my eyesight, but I can see almost nothing similar about these two structures. Photos from DNAinfo and the Chicago Tribune respectively.

Just in case people forgot how crappy the previous design was:

Still bad. But 10000% better than what could have been... still, who's fucking idiotic idea is that clock tower? Just kill it already! Ugh. :yuck:

The updated design looks like a mall. Also why the red brick? They could do some white glazed brick. It would work well with the white painted brick of wrigley.

Yup. On game days when I have errands, I like to cut past Wrigley. It is always a drunken madhouse.

I love it.

Went to about a dozen games each of the past few years. I just bought a 6 game package for the 2016 season with a drinking buddy.

I often go the long way down Clark on my drive home just to people watch. I love the lively streets no matter who's on them. It's especially great to see tourists taking it all in.

I bought a duplex up condo last year about 300 feet away and can hear everything from my living room and see it from our roof deck above our bedroom. I'm there twice a day coming and going regardless of if I want to or not. I was ready for some peace once the season was over. It was fun overall though being a part of it.

^ Wow, with the triangle building, the hotel, and the Addison on Park project that whole area is going to look way different in about 2 years.

Yup can't wait. Not a big fan of the designs of the new developments but they are going to add quite a bit to what is already the best ballpark experience in the country.

Yep, I'm really more interested in the density, although I agree that the designs of pretty much everything is absolutely horrible.

My only other complaint is that the Addison on Park project has too much parking.

LouisVanDerWright Dec 9, 2015 11:45 PM

Someone needs to use the new TOD law to build a building with like 7 stories of apartments and then just massive bleachers on top right next to Wrigley. Build a rooftop too tall to block with a sign.

nomarandlee Dec 10, 2015 1:05 AM

Is that a new design for the Addison Park (ugh) project?

UrbanLibertine Dec 10, 2015 1:39 AM

I just want to see the McD's and Taco Bell leveled.

Tom Servo Dec 10, 2015 1:41 AM

ugh. fucking bullshit.
