It looks like construction has started for the Redlands - San Bernardino light-rail project.

"Work on the railroad tracks between Redlands and San Bernardino will close lanes, but not full streets the week of Monday, Jan. 20.

Intermittent weekday lane closures associated with the Redlands Passenger Rail project are scheduled between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. for University, Eureka and Orange streets in that city, and between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Tippecanoe Avenue in San Bernardino..."

Mississauga Hurontario - 11 miles (18 km)

Heavy construction has begun on the maintenance facility for the Hurontario LRT in Mississauga.

Both the SMART Larkspur commuter rail extension and the BART Berryessa heavy rail extension can be removed from the under construction list. The SMART extension opened last December and the BART extension opened last weekend.

Is Hurontario still stopping at Brampton?

The San Bernardino Arrow was already on the list, categorized as commuter rail.

Which is the Toronto metro area. Just like the Washington silver line extension isn't listed under "Dulles", Hurontario should be under Toronto.

It's stopping at Steeles in Brampton, yes.

That is not quite the same thing because the Hurontario line is not an extension of a Toronto transit line and is designed as an internal Mississauga transit route and will not be connected to the TTC.

Except the line IS a metrolinx project. Same as Eglington.

Metrolinx is a regional/metropolitan agency rather than a Toronto agency as it operates across an area that contains several local transit agencies including the TTC, YRT and MiWay. Eglinton is located in Toronto and will be operated by the TTC, while Hurontario will be neither.

Also Metrolinx and Go Transit operates beyond both the city of Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

The first post in this thread needs to be updated with the addition of the Berryessa extension of BART. Is that the only one to open in North America in 2020?

Denver's N Line will open in September and the GO Transit Richmond Hill line might see the Bloomington Road extension open this year.

That's mainly true but not entirely. For instance, on the main page under 2018, the New Haven to Springfield commuter line is listed as "Connecticut" rather than NYC even though it extends outward from within the NYC metro area. Same as the "Lackawanna cutoff" which is listed as New Jersey despite being entirely within the NYC Metropolitan area. So the policy definitely does distinguish at least between sub regions of metro areas when appropriate, even if not to the level of individual municipalities.

Fair enough, I've edited any I noticed on the home page to reflect central city first. With the exception of the Connecticut line, which connects two different MSAs, neither of which obviously exerts a substantially stronger pull than the other, and could arguably be listed in the intercity section rather than commuter rail. And it's been complete for years now.
