Correct...with the 2nd one being on the adjacent lot to the South of 850. But I believe that one would not have a parking garage podium.

600,000 square feet is not a lot between two towers and taking into consideration everything in Phoenix is built like a stubby person. That’s barely 6-8 floors per building, assuming it’s built as others.

Photo Bomb!

Here are some pictures I grabbed during some of my jogs this weekend. They’re out of order and from interesting angles because…well…I was a sweaty mess. :)

Thank you for the photos! It’s impressive to see the Moontower already on the 12th floor!

Did we know about this?

Hatteras Sky, the company behind First McKinley, bought the big parking lot south and southwest of Union Phase 2 in December of last year.

That should finish the block if everything gets built.

yes great pics, thank you!

i love how simple and modern Adeline looks. As one of our better looking high rises, wish it was 10 stories taller haha

I didn't hear they were sold. Permits have steadily been flowing in including demo permit. The lots have been fenced off for a few months now. Construction appears to be imminent for First McKinley. Can't wait to see this one go up.

This is for a completely different lot. Check again.

Maybe I am reading something wrong?

The lots south and SW of Union phase 2 are the First McKinley lots.

Development coming to Phoenix’s South Mountain Technology Corridor

A developer plans to turn 240 acres of farm land into industrial buildings in southwest Phoenix, part of an employment center the city markets as the South Mountain Technology Corridor (SMTC).

Three years ago, a 22-mile stretch of the Loop 202 opened, connecting the East and West valleys. A perfect place, Phoenix thinks, for businesses to bring quality jobs.

Indianapolis-based Scannell Properties plans to develop 15 to 18 buildings around 67th Avenue and Dobbins Road. Scannell will not be allowed to build warehouse distribution centers for at least three years to allow time for the city to attract high-tech and advanced manufacturers.

The former Democratic headquarters building on Central/Thomas has a fence around it with a demo sign up. I can't find any new permits on it, but a few old demo permits from 2017 that are still good until next month.

If anyone recalls, there was a 15-18 story mixed-use development proposed for this corner (https://azbex.com/developer-plans-ce...nix-high-rise/). Not sure if it's still planned or not, but I'll dig around and see what I can find.

Edit: New demo permit was issued 1/12/2022 with same project number (17-1890) submitted by J&R Holdings which Pederson Group is listed as a member of who is the architect of the tower in the article above. Could be good news ;)

Equipment is on site and dirt is being moved at the empty lot on 1st next to the Coronado hotel. I think this was an entirely residential project. I remember someone posted info about it a while back but I couldn't find it.

Its a small Townhome community, like 6 or 8 units.

ASU Diablo Mar 3, 2022 5:48 PM

The renderings for this project looked pretty awesome. Had forgotten about this.

Fresh permit activity as well last month so this one is chugging along. Project is called "1st Street Townhomes".

I actually think it was more like 32 units or so with only 8 parking spots. Really good development for that tiny lot. I'll see if I can dig up the renderings I had.

Edit: I was off a bit. It's 24 units with 6 parking spaces facing the alley.
