Man arrested for swiping batteries from Revel scooters: report

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 44-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stripping Revel scooters for parts earlier this month, according to a report.

The man was arrested on Friday for swiping batteries from the scooters on two separate occasions, police sources told the New York Post. Police weren’t immediately able to provide additional details about the arrest or the thefts.

Last week, the 77th Precinct, which includes parts of Crown Heights and Prospect Heights in Brooklyn, asked residents to call 911 if they saw anyone “tampering” with a Revel scooter.

What a weird concept. Seems like a solution in search of a problem. How does a disabled person manage to live in a brownstone like that anyway? Do they have to call a taxi every time they go out?

Clearly they have to live on the first floor only, unless the building is equipped with an elevator or chairlift.

Critics, however, don’t agree. The grassroots Stonehenge Alliance has already received over 150,000 combined signatures across its two petitions to halt the tunnel.
