Nice looking building!

This building fills an important gap in that streetscape, and I believe the podium has liner apartments on the north face. Not a stellar design in any sense, but a good development for what it adds to the area.

Base of the tower crane is in place and it appears the may it being poured.

Including this and others its size or bigger under construction, how many 500 foot tall buildings do we have? I feel like it's a lot.

I think the rendering is out of date. The top of the bigger floors is level 38, and there are 10 smaller floors above that, plus the crown.

If that is the case that should help some in making it look less awkward. Good to know!

Ugh what a banal piece of crap. I will never understand the vitriol over One Bennett Park while this building manages to skate by with nothing but admiring remarks.

^ I agree it's banal, but I give it a pass because it solves problems for this particular area.

It finally encloses the district, filling the last gap on 2 streets. It encloses the plaza to the south of it. It has ground level commercial, and active apartments fronting the garage on the north elevation. It's good filler.

Because this isn't particularly offensive.

Bland glass buildings tend to blend into the built environment; 800 foot tall piles of pre-cast, custard colored shit tends to stick out.

I'd take 100 of these over a single One Bennett Park.

And that's where the nuttiness kicks in. One of each is quite enough.

Can't believe how quickly the Streeterville lots are evaporating this cyle. If Tribune Tower's lots get developed there will be like three parcels left South of Illinois or Ohio: North of NBC, Spire Site, and South of NBC along the river. I have a feeling we have better chances of seeing something spectacular at those sites now that everything else has been mopped up.


Also, I'm one who doesn't understand the hatred of this design or One Museum Park for that matter. Sure OMP has issues with how it interacts with the street and is Burj Dubai lite, but it's a decent bookend to that corner site. Everyone who comes in from out of town is always asking me "what's that cool one by Soldier Field" and it's always OMP. Certainly it is no revolution in design and is a bit over the top with it's crazy tiara, but I don't exactly find it revolting. Same goes with this project, sure it's nothing special, but it's no worse than Lowes next door and certainly not as awful as many of the precast or "window wall" tower's we get. The oval shape will be a nice break from all the squareness in this area of Streeterville as well. Should also serve to open up some nice sight lines from the tower.

Also don't forget the 535 St Clair parking garage has a kick me sign hanging off it. Pre crash there was a mid height Brininstool tower planned there.

Big pour for 465 n. Park today. Is there going to be a garage in that building. It's jut kind of odd the way they have been building the floor plate, almost looks like it's at an angle.

Im just using judgment from the webcam but it looks like their finishing up the last parking level so It will be all flat levels from this point on. Hopefully that means this baby's going to start shooting up pretty fast now.
