The dark bronze color actually works. I was worried when the facade started to go up.

Tower Crane

They have a large crawler crane on the street and looks like it is going to be used to take down the tower crane today.

Very pleased with how this one came out. Actually better looking than the computer generated renders.

Looks really good from this angle. I can’t believe people thought a $1.5b Norman Foster building was going to look bad! Looks like something you’d see in Europe.

Oof. Something tells me this won't make Foster + Co's portfolio page.

Ha! It definitely looks a lot better in bright sunlight, like sun hitting it. It got really cloudy though this afternoon. :(

Buahaha. If love/hate were a real thing, that’s how I feel about this building. From some angles in certain light, it’s either ok or not so bueno.

When you come out of the main doors of the hospital and are looking at the pavilion building end on, it works nicely with the old museum building. More than I thought it would given how awesome the museum is.

Yeah, I said this before, but it blends nicely with the surrounding architecture. In addition to the museum, the CHOP emergency room, and Buerger Center are all rounded/curved buildings next to each other.

Penn Medicine signs multimillion-deal for naming rights to SEPTA train station

https://www.bizjournals.com/philadel..._news_headline

Article behind paywall. I'm wondering if the money that Septa gets for this naming deal gets put to use for the formerly known University City Septa Station, and if it needs improvements.

Construction work to continue. Good decision governor.

I was there 2 days ago (taking a relative to Perelman). That's another new Penn building that, to me at least, looks better in real life than in the renderings.

It's funny, when we saw the renderings everyone was deriding it by calling it a cruise ship. And it does definitely look like a cruise ship. :haha:

But I agree it works somehow. Something about the colors of the panels and the glass together really works. Looks pretty striking from across the river.

Does anyone know when this is supposed to be finished?
