Today's Julius Shulman photos show Blum's, a restaurant apparently known for its desserts. This is "Job 1568: Blum's (Beverly Hills, Calif.), 1953".

The Camden Drive location is now the site of an office block. The Coffee Dan's was at 9561 Wilshire Boulevard. For the home of such a well known architect, it seems rather elusive. Besides that brief glimpse of the house at the beginning of the silent film 'The Grim Game', there seems to be only ONE other photograph of the house. What bothers me most about the destruction of the Bergstrom Estate is that it was designed to survive earthquakes...it would have stood for years!
