While we're at it, can we identify the Hollywood VIPs caricatured on the upper reaches of the walls? I see Carl Laemmle astride a globe (Universal) and Louis B. Mayer next to a lion (MGM), Chico and Groucho Marx, Charlie Chaplin, Charles Boyer, and what is probably Jimmy Durante. The female stars are a little harder to decipher. The blonde to the right of Chaplin could be Carole Lombard or Constance Bennett.

Anyone want to take a stab at identifying the rest?

Very cool that this building still exists, I didn't expect that. Its adaptive reuse into retail is great, I just wish it could have been done in such a way that the building's former life as a fire station could be visible, and celebrated.

Looks like there is enough still there that it could be done. It would mostly require the removal of the added elements, and getting creative with signage.

Interesting read. Station set record for 75 years continuous use. Was built before city supplied water so the pumpers filled from "hot" Beverly Blvd and Oxford - mineral spring. Nearby Bimini Slough, ring a [fire]bell?

There is a large roof sign on the left (west) side of the street. "Commercial" and "Savings." Looks like "Hollywood," but maybe not.

What business is being advertised?

Perhaps this is a little off-topic, but I know it will be of interest to those here. A man who grew up in LA, and has retired to Idaho, has built a model of the downtown of his youth in his basement, as a hobby.

It looks as though there are some other survivors here, as well. Mundane....but still there. Possibly the hardware store on the left of the building with the bay windows, and certainly the two buildings on the right. Notice that the second building has the same white stonework running up the side, as pointed out by the red arrow.
