Good architecture is always polarizing.

I agree with Biggus, although the previous green renderings might have been 'too polarizing.'

It's very Bruder, but potentially in a way that works at street level. It will be interesting to see more details.

This appears to be an un-greened version of the "green" version but I thought the other rendering, which looks much better, was the current plan.

As for good architecture being polarizing, I dont think I could disagree more, good architecture should be fairly universally enjoyed, funcitonal, beautiful and contextual.

I know some of the more modern thought on that is to be a weirdo and treat buildings like modern art, I am not a fan of such philosophies. But what do I know I think 99% of modern art is hot garbage meant for money laundering

After looking at the renderings on my PC instead of my phone, it doesn't look to bad. Not a skyline changer, but a good gap filler.

Still confused on why Will Bruder is still attached to this project. The lot was purchased by NADG and this is the rendering NADG posted on their website after the purchase and I believe NADG designs their own projects.

This is the definition of polarizing. You hate it, lots of others hate it, but he's one of the most influential architects around right now and generally considered a great.

Because Bruder is/was the architect, NADG is the developer.

We've seen three versions of this plan, the initial green glass one which I think was too expensive and impractical with wraparound glass (esp around an elevator core), the value-engineered version of that they released later, and now this one which doesn't look like anything.

I'd reserve judgment until anything is officially presented, Bruder could put a big pink glass elephant on his website and nobody would be the wiser.

I have a few pretty prominent architect friends around the valley, I think the general consensus is Bruder is a magic man.

That would reinforce my impression that architects design buildings primarily to impress their fellow architects.
