Lots of good stuff landed my way regarding the U-Haul expansion. The previously mentioned 5 story mobility center (which actually looks to be 6 floors) will be going on Thomas in the vacant lot that just recently was re-paved a few months back. Also, looks to be some new signage and lighting on the U-Haul headquarters building and more information about the fitness and convention center.
Some serious expansion going on here. Looks really good. https://i.imgur.com/zmhvSjL.jpg https://i.imgur.com/dqPc6AT.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YRjv2Ot.jpg https://i.imgur.com/25Re3r4.jpg https://i.imgur.com/TaOLYb5.jpg https://i.imgur.com/F9rTUda.jpg https://i.imgur.com/jqtQjTu.jpg https://i.imgur.com/GkfwOsA.jpg https://i.imgur.com/rShvIER.jpg https://i.imgur.com/xhm9Bgg.jpg |
I also noticed that parking Lot/dirt Lot behind Durant's or so? In the middle of the above map has some tractor work going on? Is it being paved?
Also what a strangely laid out haphazard campus haha |

Proposed agenda items for the next DVC meeting this weekend:
That's currently the APS substation. Unless it's a typo? Anyone know of any upcoming projects in this intersection? https://www.hubbardstreetgroup.com/ |

As for the proposed APS station on the SW corner of 7th and Roosevelt, has anyone actually confirmed they are expanding the sub station? As far as I know, that lot has been listed For Sale since they've torn the gas station down. Edit: Checked the assessor site and the lot was titled to APS on September 25th, 2019. So not sure why the lot was listed for sale all this time. So guessing sub-station expansion it is. Checked the Hubbard Street Group and they primarily do residential. Maybe a typo on the location? I believe the SE corner is a vacant lot, correct? |

Another stubby crappy hotel brand :(
Oh well, each filled lot means more height down the road. |
Yes, the gas station on 7th and roosevelt (or 6th and garfield if you prefer) was razed because APS bought the land and plans to (someday) expand the power station. Much like with the old revolver records building they will operate it as usable space until the time comes for expansion. I don't know more than that, that's what they told us. Perhaps it's being developed in the mean time.

They have applied for a number of new permits, none of which have been issued at this point. I am interested to see where this ends up.
