Trees.

Those trees are all that's left from the golf course. The club house was right there, or just slightly left of the lot line.

This will block my view of The Fairmont, the Carbide & Carbon building, Boulevard Towers and that building over on LaSalle Street and the river. . . I still welcome this building to the neighborhood. . .

I like the long, narrow shape of this plot. Reminds me of WPE.

Have we heard when this is supposed to break ground? I imagine pretty soon if soil testing is happening now.

I heard that all restaurants in the neighborhood are going to use this area for outdoor seating

Ah, smart idea. That's probably it although I don't envy the waiters from MingHin who have to schlep food down four levels and over to the neighboring lot, or III Forks which is over 400' away.... It's probably doable with heated food carts and such though.

Skyguy_7 Jun 8, 2020 12:24 PM

^That is *not* a smart idea and not doable unless they're leveling the lot for food trucks. It would be a bad experience to wait 20 mins each time you need your server, not to mention she'd be liable to fall over due to exhaustion towards the end of the night. I figured nergie was kidding!

It could be for the ground breaking ceremony, though those guys do not look like a Union crew, due to the gym shoes and no yellow vests/hardhats.

You know lightfoot doesn't want to get her shoes muddy to cut a ribbon.

It obviously would not be the same level of 5-star service. You'd have to have a wait station and dedicated waiters for the patio area plus "runners" who bring stuff back and forth from the kitchen. They can cater a wedding in a backyard or park, same concept.

We must have passed each other on the sidewalk that day Solar. I watched them tear down the clubhouse from the street that day as well while on a bike ride.

Kind of a weird looking one

lol of all the possible criticisms of Lori Lightfoot, "fashion obsessed diva" is probably the most misplaced someone could conjure up.

Too bad, this stretch of Columbus badly needs infill. it feels so weirdly empty and windswept.

I suppose if you're not going to be using the space for a while, a biergarten is the perfect solution in my opinion. . .
