I'm not going down the rabbit hole of creating endless subcategories. For the purposes of this list, Ottawa is either light rail or heavy metrorail. I'm inclined to leave it as light rail since it looks pretty similar to Seattle's nearly-a-metro LRT and it definitely lacks the vehicle capacity of true heavy metro, but I'm open to being convinced it should move.

Yes. Stage 1 opens in November 2018.

Ottawa should be considered as a light-rail system, since:

1. It is presented as a light rail system on the project's official website;
2. It's a light capacity system as opposed to other metro systems;

But I agree that most of the stations are very similar to those in Vancouver's Skytrain or Montreal's REM.

Ottawa's Stage 2 is scheduled to start construction in 2019. It will include 3 extensions affecting 2 different lines plus a completely new spur line to the airport. Since the Stage 2 was first planned, they have added further extensions to all 3 extensions and got special funding for those additional extensions. Preliminary study has begun for Stage 3.

The main distinction between Ottawa's LRT plan and those in Vancouver and Montreal's REM is that Ottawa's system will be semi-automated while Vancouver and Montreal REM will be fully automated.

Oklahoma City Streetcar will open on December 14

Milwaukee streetcar will open Nov 2.

Fort Worth's TEXrail will open in January 2019.

It's with mixed emotions that I have to notice: A lot more things are coming off the list lately than being added to it. Projects are finishing, but new ones aren't following them.

It's not an accident. Trump's FTA is withholding the expansion money it's supposed to be sending to new transit projects.

Anyone who is rightly upset about this should get out there and canvass over the next month to help elect Democrats who will fight to ensure we adequately fund investments in improved mobility.

And this should come as a surprise to no one...

Milwaukee's streetcar is officially open and is moving to complete, except for a 0.22 mile branch that's not opening until 2020.

Yes, this was not noted here before but this has been known for the last couple of months. No new opening date has been announced but hopefully sometime in early 2019. The delay is mostly related to the 2016 sinkhole which has delayed the completion of one of the downtown stations. That station will soon be finished.

The Kitchener-Waterloo ION LRT line has also been delayed. Previously scheduled to open in December, opening day as been deferred until the spring of 2019. The main issue has been the delivery of full operational LRT cars.
