I have re-submitted drawings for most of these towers, and also proposed new height estimates, based upon the elevation drawing posted by Cruzin4u here: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...=203290&page=3 (see post #42)
88 floors - 295M 80 floors - 268M building at NE corner 80 floors - 264M building at NW, directly south of the 88 floor tower 75 floors - 247M 70 floors - 231M 40 floors - 184M Toronto Star building - 139M after additional floors added |
Thanks Koops!
And here's a DB entry for the additional tower (70 floors / 231 m) - http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=17941 |
So, can anyone in-the-know give us an inkling as to the chances of this (and the other biggies: Mirvish, Oxford) being built, given the pronounced sales slowdown publicized recently?
|
This one will happen, perhaps not at the heights they are proposing right now but something decently tall/dense will be built. Timing will be market based but with a project this big I would guess it will be a couple years before we see a shovel in the ground.
Mervish, I doubt anything resembling what they are proposing currently will be built there. Oxford will also happen, although it looks like the casino is likely not going to get approval. Don't know if they will redesign/scale back without the casino but something will get built here. |
I expect the Mirvish plans to go through provided that a major developer comes on board. Ultimately I think they will be shortened and highly cheapened, but nevertheless "Gehrys".

Thanks for your relatively positive input, guys. I hope you're proven wrong about the downsizing. It would be oh-so-predictably Toronto if we were to get some limp simulacrum of a breathtaking original plan.

This incredible development will have 6.4 million square feet of built space

The project file includes the heights for each tower in this development. I took the liberty of copying the chart from the PDF.
I'd recommend checking the entire file out. Some great renderings in there. http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Meteo...ty/1_yonge.jpg |
OK at least we don't have to worry about a supertall getting downsized ...Lol!
|
I'm pleasantly surprised to see my estimates weren't off by more than 1 or 2 metres...
