Oooooo I like that last pic...

Notyrview always digging up some great pictures of the city. I'll need to check out that view when the autoshow roles back into town in a few months

I haven't taken LSD ND towards the loop for almost a year. I absolutely love that view, and in your pic its damned near unrecognizable. What an improvement on an already spectacular vista!

Me too, one of my fav vantage points. Especially driving in on the skyway -- the city is so hidden and then all of a sudden POW!

Looks lie 70 floors now. Entering the home strech. Is it weird that im kind of sad this one and Vista are nearly topped out?

I can already tell this is going to be one of my favorite buildings to go up this cycle. It's enormous, imposing and elegant.

It's also amazing how layered and dense the South Loop has gotten over the years. When I lived in Chicago briefly around 2008, I constantly took the green line up from IIT, often to Roosevelt, and that area was still pretty sparse and quiet. I can't even imagine what it looks like now from the point of a pedestrian or passenger on the L.

South Loop has come a long way since 2008, but still IMO a lot of room for new development. Luckily we have Google Maps so you can kind of see..

It's certainly on the up and up. It could use a strong restaurant scene though. I'm also dying to see a dedicated WW2 built nearby and added to the museum campus.

Living in Bronzeville I appreciate that I'll get the "staircase" side of the building but I think it would've been better for the building if it had been rotated 180 degrees so that the staircase looked North facing Grant Park. Thats the spot most people will get to actually see it and where everyone likes to take pictures. Missed opportunity I think.

Looks like this will be just around 800' in the end

BonoboZill4 Nov 10, 2018 7:09 PM

Yeah... unless the crane jumps again this one got a major haircut. Big disappointment.

The last crane jump permit in July said it was "FINAL PHASE". So I'd imagine its probably really close to topped off

Zapatan Nov 10, 2018 7:19 PM

Man what is up with Chicago lately? It looks like it'll end up ~775'

Still a nice project, I'm sick of the height cuts left and right though. Hopefully the taller building next to it comes to fruition.
