The Rolls Royce looks more like a Jaguar.

Ben Blue's dinner theater, Wilshire Blvd at 22nd Street, Santa Monica
 

A friend of mine was watching an old Jack Benny show and took this screenshot to ask if I'd heard of Ben Blue's. I'd heard of it but didn't know where it was. So a quick skidoo in the LACDs revealed this ad.

... which is supposed to take place in San Francisco. If I remember well the place where the mob meets is a Bunker Hill building : the Mission Apartments on the corner of 2nd and Olive.

Is there an actual street address for Ben Blue's?

Wilshire & 22nd in SM has three of it's four corners redeveloped, the eldest being a school (which doesn't seem to fit as a previous nightclub).

IIRC, Madame Wu's was at the same intersection. Did Ben Blue's become Madame Wu's?

The advert posted by MartinTurnbull is the one on page 108, and the phone numbers match. I had a quick look for a restaurant called "The Merry Go Round", but all I found were carousels on the pier!

Bus Station ~ Grape Vine
 

I've seen the The Killing several times ....of the Hollywood bus station lobby scene, several times.
If there was a connecting door to the Grape Vine its irrelevant. In fact, I've been inside both locations. It may be, that by my time in the 1970s, the door had been eliminated, as I don't remember any connecting door.

Have we ever discussed that Colonial looking brick building you can see here at the :previous: bottom right of the photo above, or in the top left of the 1960 dated intersection photo E_R posted?

Currently it seems to just be office space, but I wonder what it might have been built as. The address is 6535 Wilshire Blvd. The side street to the west of it is S. Sweetzer.

I worked this out from a production photo in "The Stanley Kubrick Archives" showing the crew on the street with the mountains in the distance. There is a Mobil station in the photo which is still there at La Brea and Sunset.

I'm mildly curious about the sign to the left of the Mobilgas sign. It looks like it ends with ...bruzzi. Maybe a sports car dealer?

The two-story brick structure at 6535 Wilshire Blvd. was called The Sweetzer Building. It was built in 1951 and housed the offices of entertainment attorneys Pacht, Tannenbaum & Ross. Hard to believe they were ready to tear it down when it was only six years old. (below LAT 1.27.57)

Behind the truck transporting tires should be Tiny Naylor's diner, NW corner of La Brea and Sunset, assuming it was already constructed by the time the picture was taken. Same goes with Carolina Pines, across La Brea from Tiny Naylor's, right where the pine tree is, far right of the picture. Now it's a Burger King. My old Neighborhood (Lanewood Ave).
