A recent Google Earth view shows how much the area has changed. Ocean View now stops at Lake. The intersection
of 3rd and Alvarado is at right, marked by the four red crosswalks. The Burger King is on the NE corner, so
321 S. Alvarado was kitty-corner from that:

The seller has this listed under Englewood, but it clearly says Edgewood on the buses.

I couldn't find an Edgewood in the San Fernando Valley, but there's an Edgewood High School in West Covina.

I was devoted to Captain Jet (advertised on the rooftop billboard above). OMG, that show was hokey. Captain Jet used to rock his chair back and forth to simulate his rocket ship taking off. He was seriously skeezy-looking too, but we kids found him oddly compelling:

Dr Gibson paid for some outstanding neon to dance along the Willoughby's roofline (don't anybody miss the animated arrows which eventually point out the entrance to Dr Gibson's on the right). That neon was a public service if there ever was one.
