Eventually in Cocoa. The land is already in possession. Just not as a part of this initial Miami to Orlando phase.

Brightline CEO: Congress needs to do more to encourage high-speed rail projects

By Bill Wilson
Railway Tracks & Structures
May 6, 2021

"President Biden and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg have been pushing high-speed rail since January, but Congress needs to really pull for it.

Brightline CEO Mike Reininger spoke before the House Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials on May 6 and encouraged more support from lawmakers for high-speed rail. He said Congress could increase investment in rail through measures including expanding access to capital and accelerating the regulatory approval process for projects.

Reininger believes increasing the borrowing cap for private activity bonds would help high-speed rail progress in the U.S. Currently, up to $15 million can be borrowed through the bonds, and Reininger wants the cap to at least double to $30 million..."

For anyone looking for nitty gritty construction update videos on youtube, check out a guy called the roaming railfan. They are excellent. I highly recommend the cocoa tunnel video.

Translation: Will probably never happen. Anytime there is no firm construction date or any real solid committed plan or timeline, it's all glorified horse manure. Earlier this year they were saying how it would start second quarter, blah blah blah with no definite timeline or start date. Something didn't surprise me in the slightest when I saw this announcement. We are being strung along, nothing more. Which is huge shame since I really want to see the US develop high speed projects as seen in other parts of the world including here in Asia and in Europe rather than just keep talking about it and going absolutely nowhere literally.
