So... do you go around the city one day and take pictures of all the construction sites? If so, do you walk, drive, public transit? 'Cause that sounds pretty fun, actually.

Yes. One day a month. Usually drive around to UCity, Temple, etc... Sometimes rent an Indego Bike on nice days. Walk around Center City mostly. I enjoy it!

We should start group tours around the city once a month :)

I peaked a look last night. On the eastern end they are still playing in the sand and no new construction. But the downward digging does seem to be done. There is a VERY large crawler crane parked in the bottom of the pit. On the western end a few pieces of steel are sticking up above street level, but it looks like they still aren't really ripping into the work yet.

Precast framing for the parking structure is going in now--not very apparent (one piece per truck, maybe 15 trucks a day, so it is moving slowly as they erect the walls and columns) but once the double tees start showing up the hole will fill up pretty fast. There is still a little excavation going on for footings but that should wrap next week. The machines will be picked out by that big red crane, and that crane will fill in the space with precast working it's way to the southeast, and then get dismantled and picked out of the hole in pieces.
Look for tower cranes to go up in about a month and then steel will fly faster.

The hole was a big bathtub this morning........

A closer look at the picture above and it shows a big beam size or a plate girder ...looks like the building steel is designed to high loads...

I work just across the street and have been meaning to take some pictures.. a great deal of progress has been made on the front portion of the building since the last pictures were posted. This thing looks like it's going to have quite the presence from Civic Center Blvd.

Maybe an update in the color scheme from gold to chocolate brown. I like the new color scheme.

^ That would better complement the Museum.

Looked like they were installing a tower crane when I walked past Saturday morning.
