Innovative multi-purpose development will create a city-within-a-city full of greenery
Quote:

The concept of the Toranomon-Azabudai Project is a “MODERN URBAN VILLAGE”; it aims to be a huge open space at the heart of Tokyo filled with lush greenery that will bring people closer together and build a new community. The project will seamlessly weave offices, residences, a hotel, an international school, retail shops, restaurants and cultural facilities into the fabric of everyday life, encompassing work, learning, recreation, interaction and relaxation. This visionary project also aims to create “a city within a city”, which will constitute the “Hills of the future” by utilizing past experiences in the Hills-series of redevelopments. After spending 30 years on discussing and planning this project, its construction finally began on August 5, 2019.

great update.

tokyo is really into their ‘city in a building’ experience type skyscrapers.

i read about this one awhile ago and was wondering what was happening.

it looks a bit like a manhattan west tower on steroids.

Its roughly the same height as the ESB without the top spire/antenna or 3 WTC which was beheaded by Silverstein & The Port Authority...

'the tower will offer 204,000m² of large-scale office spaces with a standard floor plate of approximately 4,300m², and 13,000m² of retail facilities.'

Wow this building is massive! Over 4.96 million square feet.

For comparison purposes, the Shanghai Tower has 4.09 million square feet. The One World Trade Center in NYC is 3.50 million square feet. The Burj Kalifa (world's tallest) is 3.33 million square feet. The Merdeka 118 has 3.14 million square feet.
