:previous: Towers on stilts always make me nervous. :uhh:
The more I look at it, the more I notice the resemblance to The Bridge, which was recently completed.
^ There's a bit of the Radian in it too.
I see a litte of the Bridge on Race (205 Race St) with the cut out and support pillars and angular shape. The orientation of this building optimizes the waterviews for what looks like at least half of the apartments. Hope this gets built.

It will be a distinctive landmark along the waterfront. I like how the dealt with the water's edge. Almost attempting a "nature-scape". I like that it is on stilts and still has retail. Good job for a pretty horrible site.

https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/IoeS...1516634438.jpg I very much like the public access areas on this plan. I do wish they'd find a way to have something other then a flat roof, it looks so boring. I'm still confused why there are height limits in such a open area. If I remember a big aspect of the gov't planning for this part of the Delaware river front is to limit the size of new development projects so that development is spread over a wider area. But if this private market developer wants to build 35 floors tall and have 350 units and take all the risks, what do I care. I care much more about the overall design and the details and the public access and having retail on site then how tall the building is. I wouldn't mind seeing this building be another 10 floors taller. |
