I wouldn't necessary assume that. Dranoff's other high rises, One Riverside and Symphony House both have lighting schemes.

Didn't TK report that they were putting in a lighting scheme?

PurpleWhiteOut Nov 9, 2021 6:18 PM

I remember TK said they were discussing it but I don't think anything concrete was shared

I hope they do, I doesnt have tobe on par with W and Element, but some colors would be nice, and help it stand out at night. Honestly id be happy if they had a trailing pattern from the crown down.

I would really love to see a lighting scheme too. If I were an architect I would never design a building WITHOUT a lighting scheme. I really wish Philly had more colorful lighting schemes too, unfortunately we just have to settle for the Liberty 1 and 2 lights which don't even match each other anymore.

And FMC, and Cira Centre, and the W Hotel, and Dranoff’s Riverwalk, and the Pyramid Club, and Penn’s new medical building, and CHop’s Schuylkill Ave Tower, and Three Logan Square.

Actually, I think every building over 550’ except the two Comcast buildings have some sort of lighting scheme.

Is it bad to say I think I like the Arthaus more than the Laurel? The Laurel is.. fine, but Arthaus truly looks fantastic

No it's not. It's just a matter of choice. That being said, both are well better than average looking buildings. The distinction is that Arthaus looks more modern and The Laurel looks more traditional in terms of a design perspective.

...which fits each perspective location perfectly.

I'm with you! I love the lines on Arthaus, the way the white cladding frames the glass. It makes it stand out from the rest of the blue glass towers for me, somewhat.

Construction elevator coming down.

I would love to see a lighting scheme on Arthaus. The city needs more lights on our skyline at night!! It would be dope if like all of the white that outlines the building lit up at night or something like that, similar to that one building in Dallas that lights up the outline of itself.

I hate that Dallas building so much.

I think some subtle warm white up-lighting on the setbacks would look nice, but I also like stars so /shrug.

I completely agree with you I think the building is hideous, but I think a similar light scheme would look nice on Arthaus. I feel ya on the stars part, but most of the stars probably haven't been visible for a century here lol

arkitect13 Dec 2, 2021 4:19 PM

Well in mid-spring and fall Center City turns off its lights so maybe stars will appear then?
