News from Brightline for downtown Miami station

This is downtown Miami station. The construction is completed. You can see it now.

It would be cool if they eventually built a station at Stuart or Fort Pierce. Then I would just take the train down to West Palm or Miami instead of driving down I 95 for hours.

Yes, as long if they build 2 more new Brightline station. We shall see what happen. If they consider it.

MiamiCentral is going to be so awesome when it opens:

It seems from videos and pictures like these:

... that the Brightline trains are going to be stopping at the westernmost platforms, which confused me at first since I had assumed diagrams like this one:
https://images1.miaminewtimes.com/im...ildowntown.jpg

... meant to show that they would be on the eastern tracks. But I guess keeping TriRail on the west makes sense, since those trains will be coming from the west, meaning that the two types of passenger trains won't interfere with each other. I think that is very smart.

Brightline service to Miami is now just weeks away, the company says.

Trains recently pulled into MiamiCentral station, elevated 50 feet above ground, for the first time. Test runs of trains into the Miami station are set to continue this week, Brightline told the Sun Sentinel.

Revenue service will begin within weeks, Brightline representatives told the Palm Beach Post. An exact date wasn’t announced, but testing on the Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach route took five weeks.

Tickets from Miami to Fort Lauderdale will start at $10 for Smart service and $15 for Select service.

Brightline also announced the addition a Friday night train from Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach due to high demand.

This train could hopefully increase development in all the main downtowns of South Florida.

Its a selling point when trying to compete for tenants in the office sector. Good transit options are always a plus.
