It's going to be a Chase Bank according to Phoenix's Development Services website...do an address search for 675 E Camelback Rd which I got from the assessor for that corner.

It was the first company I looked up for close locations and they have one a mile away. I hate them.

3550 sq ft, 2 drive up tellers, and 1 drive up ATM. It's actually going to be 318 sqft smaller than the buildings that were there before, a lot coverage of a whole 18%. Interesting that little thing that was there before was built in two phases in 1979 and 1982.

I bet the owners who sold it have a long history in the area.

^Hopefully it's not one of their template branches and is at least custom-tailored for the site...but I doubt it.

A buddy of mine designs lots of their branches locally. I should ask him...

Pretty bad when you know the locations of all the mcdonalds. I was being totally facetious but thanks for telling everyone you're an unhealthy grease face.

Sean, thanks for digging that up. Not like I had my hopes up, but a bank branch couldn't be much more disappointing. Crazy to think that 7th and camelback is the burbs.

Maybe he lives or works nearby or just happens to know for some other reason?

. . . but thanks for REMINDING everyone that you're an unnecessary asshole face.

By the way, I believe I recall seeing a photo of you some time back, chugging a beer that was most likely the probable cause of the then-clearly-evident bulging beer gut you had. You should reconsider insulting posters by such hypocritical means.

I was 20, that was six years ago. You're still stuck on that? :haha:

Either way, McDonald's is disgusting. Anyone who eats there is a diabetes enthusiast and has no idea what they are doing to themselves.

i like their vanilla milkshakes.

LOVE the RO2 project! That is exactly what we need more of downtown, especially lining Roosevelt. Imagine that plus the other apts/dorms that are proposed, could really have a positive effect on the area.

HX_Guy Sep 11, 2011 7:26 PM

Holy shit the video for the W Hotel makes me fucking drool. Maybe there still a chance...some day?

Also, what's with The Edge Convention Center? Looks to some somewhere downtown, can anyone figure out where approx? Or is that what the Sheraton turned out to be?

Cool info and pics. How real is that ro2? That would def be perfect/ exciting.

Vicelord John Sep 11, 2011 8:49 PM

none of them are even remotely real. You guys are wasting your time getting exited over things you'll never have. Like when I start trying to convince myself I actually could have sex with Mila Kunis, these buildings are never going to happen.

Which corner was the pyramid building on?
And only 5 stories? Really? I hope Vicelord's right and it's not even remotely real (unless it's built such that better density is possible down the road.)

I agree; if Ro2 was the same height as what was planned for 3rd and Earll it would make more sense...

Yeah, it's where the Sheraton was built instead. It was DFDCornoyerHedrick's proposed design but they got value engineered out.

Do you actually have specific reason to believe this?

RO2 (on the northeast corner) seems *very* real. Davis's principals own the land, it's the newest project listed, and it's the end result of something that got scaled down.

I am 100% certain something is going to be built at 28th St and Camelback in the near future at a similar height and density as what's displayed.

Portland Place 2 has always been brewing and the developer hasn't divested themselves of their plans down here.

Have no idea what the others are about.

phxSUNSfan Sep 12, 2011 3:53 AM

Would be nice if that pit was finally built upon at Portland Place...the Camelback project is a go-ahead (if this is the project being built on the site of where Barcelona stood).

Vicelord John Sep 12, 2011 5:21 AM

Sean I'm going with logical thought, reasonable doubt, and rational expectations.
