Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital (MCH) has become the first ever Government Medical College in the State to become fully computerised. The hospital information management system implemented at the MCH by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) includes a campus-wide network of 250 nodes with fibre optic backbone and helps in patient admission, ward management, staff scheduling, laboratory management and pay-ward reservations and enquiries. All patient care activities at the MCH have thereby become automated, with all records, registers and lab reports readily available in the system.
