The official site says 76 stories (not 80) and has it looking about 900' in the rendering. Although who knows, sometimes they're not super accurate. The rendering looks outdated.

I think originally it was supposed to be 893 feet and 80 stories, but it's been chopped down to 76 stories and 829 feet (at least according to another website).

That makes total sense considering what we're seeing now.

Not a huge deal IMO. I hope they eventually build the second taller tower, that would make up for it

Calm down. I see this building every day. There's been no changes to the design so far as I can tell.

Everyone seems to be calm, just speculating that the building may be a bit shorter. The building has had 76 floors for a while now, I think the 893' figure was from when it had 80 floors.

Cool pics by the way. 830 feet or 890 feet this building is nice looking and sticks out in the area.

Without another crain jump this isn't breaking 800

Elliphant Nov 11, 2018 11:22 PM

Then it'll jump...
This is what is being built.

If so... :dancingeggplant

That's funny, I have a friend who lives in that building and snapped this exact pic a few weeks ago. Awesome view for a dorm

Could be, although how many jumps are in a phase? It could be second to last

If it is the last the 76 story figure makes sense. The new design has the building without the hollow top part too I believe. That may have cut some height.

Currently looks to be at floor 70 with 6 more to go

Donnie77 Nov 13, 2018 8:55 AM

Let's say its topped out, its still a handsome tower.

So many worry warts!

Guys look at the perspective in this photo, the crane can clearly add at least the lower part of what is shown here without being jumped. It is located at the rear of the building, now imagine swinging the boom forward (towards the camera here) along the perspective lives to the horizon. It would easily clear most of the outline here. They may even be intending to erect some portions of the screen at the very top with a mobile lift or by helicopter rather than pay for another crane jump to add 20' of mechanical screen.

This tower isn't going to be 900', but then again that was literally never the plan. It will be well over 800' and that's huge for this area whether it's 893 or 834...

Notyrview Nov 13, 2018 4:28 PM

Yeah, that's reassuring, thanks for the technical expertise. 834 is fantastic here. It's more about the relative height to its neighbors anyway.

^^Agree 100% LVDR

I heard from a reliable source working on the project... The crane is being jumped over the next couple days. There are 9 floors to go on the project.

but i wanted to prematurely pull my hair out and set myself on fire in the middle of daley plaza to protest the GROSS injustice of a less than 800' tall building on the site.

thanks for ruining my plans.

This might be a stupid question but do you know how the permits for the crane jump work? Because as I said in my previous post the last crane jump permit from July (I think) said it was "FINAL PHASE". Is a phase more than one jump? Or are the permits only for the tie-ins to the structure (multiple per phase?)?
