Add 301 & 321 South Wacker to that list (potentially). Not sure about NEMA II but maybe that also. |

Finally had some time to watch the magic yesterday. This is truly a 'site' to behold:

For scale, the cable on the hook is about 1.5" in diameter. |

Based on what I could see when I walked up there on Friday, looks like that mound of dirt that they are driving the mixer trucks and concrete pump on will have to be taken out of there because that area is needed for the lower level of the building.
How will they get stuff to the site without that opening that's under WPE? |

^ Good guess. That would definitely need to stay open for the duration of construction.
If they end up using only the tunnel for logistics, it'll be quite the feat of engineering that they squeezed this entire tower through a 20' wide hole in the parking garage! Personally, I'd love to see some steel arrive via barge... |

so will the plaza float over the river's edge? would have been nice to build steps and/or some kind of a landing right down to the water... or does the water level change too much to permit that?

^ It’s of course a yuge improvement from what was there...overgrown bushes and weeds. Harry can provide an image to attest.

Would look better as a park at the base of a single supertall..but yeah..still good.

Feel like this image is indicative of how afraid developers are of using trees and heavy foliage for landscaping. I understand because of the nature of downtown and skyscrapers, it makes growing large plants difficult, but I think it would be so cool if we could maintain this tree lined walking area rather than the sterile pavement walkway that is going to be built.
